At First Assembly Christian
School, we believe that all children are gifted by God to use their
talents for His service. We raise the bar academically, and through
the loving encouragement of our teachers, students go farther than
they ever dreamed possible. FACS is accredited by two outside organizations
– ACSI and SACS. Both of these groups require annual reports
and on-site visits every five years. They look at all areas of our
school, including our Philosophy, Goals & Mission; School, Home
& Community; Admissions; School Personnel; School Board; School
Finances; Instructional Program; Student Activities; Media Center;
Food Services and Facilities.

Technology
FACS has two computer labs- one houses twenty-five Dell computers in the media center while the other is a mobile unit that allows 25 laptops to travel from class to class. Students begin practicing computer skills in kindergarten, building each year with keyboarding, internet research skills, spreadsheets and PowerPoint projects. Each year, 100% of our 8th graders passed the NC Computer Competency Test, which is a high school graduation requirement. Each classroom is equipped with two computers, one hooked to the internet and one used to run education software. Teachers have also been trained to use Smart Board technology for interactive internet whole class instruction when appropriate. Smart board technology is available in the Media Center as well as a portable system that moves among classrooms as needed.
High
School Placement in Honors classes
Almost all of our 8th grade graduates transition into public high
schools and take honors classes in English, History, Science and
Math. The majority of our graduates have already completed the Algebra
and Computer Competency requirement for high school graduation by
the time they leave FACS. The class of 2008 will have completed
Spanish I by the time they graduate.
