We joined together to build friendships and to touch a city. Through face to face interactions, Christ's love was reflected to the people of Winston-Salem. God began to reset our hearts as we refocused our ministries and we found that the city had also touched us. |

Spiritual Intelligence
All this month we will be seeking to elevate our Spiritual Intelligence. There are stages of development in the life of every God follower and so all this month we will seek understanding about the main things that surround the Christian faith. We will look at the Doctrine of God, Doctrine of Jesus, Doctrine of Holy Spirit and the Doctrine of Worship and Prayer.
There is a mystery that surrounds us in the universe. It has been talked about since the beginning of time – and just as often avoided. Deus Absconditus – The Hidden God. Who is God? What does He look like? How tall is he? Is He mean or nice? These are just a few of the topics we will be examining as we move through the series. |

When God Speaks
In his most recent book 2008, our new General Superintendent, George Wood, was interviewed by Randy Hurst. He makes some strong statements about how the Assemblies of God must change. He stated the following: “Bridges must be built to the spiritually lost. Most nonbelievers in our culture today will not be reached by merely being given a piece of printed literature, a video, or an invitation to church. Relationships with nonbelievers must be built through meaningful interaction centered on their interests and concerns. Bridges must be built not only with words, but also with deeds and caring acts that demonstrate sincere, compassionate love.”
Darla and I want to encourage every believer to cultivate deep and meaningful friendships with those who are far from God. We must respond to the directives of our founder when He said to “go and make disciples”. We are not eternal salesmen trying to promise people the best deal for their lives if they will just trade in now. |

The Art of Giving
No one can overestimate the importance of focusing on a single mission. As I have stated many times before, we are committed to facilitating "God Moments" for both believers and people who are far from God. One moment in His very presence can reorient a person's life and change the future of families, organizations and even a culture. We are all responsible for sharing that vision and helping to energize others toward that vision. This is the year, the year of sacrifice! This year is even more critical than the previous year, because for deep change to occur, there now must be the execution of the vision.
