Quiet hearts quickened; cluttered minds cleared; we have truly been
RESET. The Spirit of Christ is more than a memory; He is NOW, He is THIS
MOMENT, He is PRESENT.
Day one of RESET, prayer led to repentance and prefaced an opportunity
for this group of believers to be transformed forever. We were brought
to our knees, stomachs, and faces; all indications that God Himself has
called us to humble ourselves and serve this great city. The love of
God for his people was internalized.
Then, day two and three of
RESET, love walked; love had hands and feet and smiles. Whispers from
God to his people were loud and distinct. God’s
knock was finally answered and he was welcomed. The grace and sounds
of fallen hair restored dignity to the eyes of the forgotten and rejected,
and poured purpose into those vocationally trapped and driven by minutia
and the norm. God is “Other than” and one can never be the
same.
Then Friday, Jason Upton gave
RESET the punctuation it needed. Often times, when those who follow
Christ come together and have an event in His name, it often ends with
a period or exclamation point and I wondered if RESET would be the
same. What this looks like are high fives and highlight films and a
quick jump into the metronomes of busy life. RESET, though, ended with
a giant question mark; personally, corporately we are challenged with
questions of what’s next and
how and why? Where are we headed?
Life in the Spirit is life in action. We must move; we must RESET.
