SPECIAL DAYS

Throughout the year, we highlight certain days and do special events. A few of them are named below:

OCTOBER: Fall Festival

NOVEMBER: We make Native American costumes and have a Thanksgiving Parade. Parents are invited to the parade. The children will eat a Thanksgiving feast in the dining room. We are sorry but due to limited space we are unable to open this to the parents.

DECEMBER: The children learn lots of holiday songs, stories and poems. The make Christmas crafts to decorate each room and donate one ornament to decorate each room's Christmas tree. We also have the Penny Campaign where children bring in their pennies that we donate to Samaritan Ministries.

JANUARY: Fun-A-Thon where we go to the gym for an hour or so or fun, dance, etc. to raise a food donation for our Church Pantry. (that gives to those in need)

FEBRUARY: A semi-formal tea party with Ms. Robin. This is a four year old class event. The children bring a cup and saucer from home and a favorite teddy bear or doll and they come dressed to impress. Also a special feature this day is the Valentine boxes the children have decorated at home with their parents to receive cards from their classmates.

MARCH: "kite" month. Our hallway bulletin boards and walls are decorated with the most beautiful kites you could ever hope to see. They are a parent child project done at home and each kite represents the family who created it. Each class goes out and flies a real kite! We also have our Circus and Clown Parade.

APRIL: During bible time the children are taught the real reason we celebrate Easter (the crucifixion & resurrection). We also dye eggs, have egg hunts, make baskets and bonnets, and have a Easter Parade. Parents are invited.

JUNE: Our K-4 classed graduate. ALthough many of them remain with us throughout the summer, some of them do not; therefore we have our graduation program. The children share much of what they have learned in Preschool during this program. The children march out in their cap and gowns and receive a graduation certificate. This night is the highlight of the year. We also have a Luau, each class participates in decoration one big room and have lots of fun.

SEPTEMBER: Johnny Appleseed Week - "How many activities can you do with Apples?  Come and see!!"
